Bioengineering
Although this quarter involved less credits than the previous two quarters, the transition into BioE core classes and the heavier course work was still surprising. However, this quarter was significantly more enjoyable, and I've had a lot of fun exploring the bioengineering field in UW as well as meeting lots of new people! To the left are 3 pictures from the 3 BioE classes I took this quarter: learning protein display programs, learning about analog filtering for biosignal processing, and creating a pulse oximeter with circuit elements!
Lots of change
Along with the course load shift, spring brought lots of other changes, such as in preparation for the summer and several graduations. Specifically in lab, I was able to start really getting my FEV project going (learn more here!), and got trained on new techniques like qPCR as other undergrads with various forms of expertise were graduating. I also had experience with sharing my knowledge in lab after a new undergrad joined the lab, and had to say goodbye to an old mentor - a goodbye card my friend and I put together is shown on the right.

quarter summary
This quarter was a lot better than the previous, and I had a lot of fun finding a smaller community on UW. While incredibly challenging, the classes I took have me excited for the future in BioE, and my research progressing has been incredible to watch! I have experimented with several new study methods with new friends, moved out for the summer, and am also currently preparing for a trip to Japan - which I am incredibly excited for!
